Unicycle Robot

For our capstone project, my teammates and I built a unicycle robot that could balance and do basic point-to-point navigation. I was mostly involved on the control side of things but also implemented communication routines and tested the electronics.

Stepping Stones

My current research focuses on achieving physics-based simulation of human motion using reinforcement learning, specifically to navigate stepping stones. Here’s a demo of some of my ongoing work.

SIMBICON

As part of my research with the MOCCA group at UBC, I implemented the SIMBICON controller to simulate human locomotion.

Drnet Video Generation

As part of my work at ElementAI, I implemented the drnet paper on video generation.

DNGO Optimization

Implemented the Deep Neural Global Optimization paper. Used Bayesian linear regression and neural network to optimize unknown 'black-box' functions using the Expected Improvement criterion.

Binary Star System Analysis

As part of the International University Physics Competition, my team and I analyzed stable orbits of a planet in a binary star system. I found two of the stable orbits. We received a bronze medal (80th percentile) in the competition.
